Emergency Death Benefit

Up to $15,000 mailed to the insured member's beneficiary within 24 hours after receiving notice of a member's death. Certain conditions and limitations apply.

Scholarship Benefit
The scholarship benefit provides up to $10,000 per family, per year, for a maximum benefit of $40,000 toward a college degree. Available to Military and First Responders only.

The Armed Forces Benefit Association (AFBA) was established in February 1947 with the approval of the Secretary of War, Mr. Robert Patterson.

Membership in AFBA today is available to all members of the Uniformed Military Services; Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and other Federal Government employees; Contractor Employees in support of the Uniformed Military Services; State and Local Employees (to include Police Officers, Firefighters and other First Responders); and their families.
